Many people recently have been asking me...
Are people really making money on the Internet?

The answer is yes! And you can too.

So, how's it done?

First of all it's like any other way of marketing-- you have to figure out what its strengths and weaknesses are and use the vehicle to maximize your marketing efforts.

I recently heard Jim and Audri Lanford of www.netrageous.com give what I thought the best description of the internet from a marketing perspective that I've ever heard. They said, "the Internet is the equivalent of the world's cheapest printing press."

What do they mean by that?

They mean, anything and everything you would want to print in order to market your products and services, you can do cheaper on the internet and reach more people because your marketplace isn't just limited to the 15 miles or so within your location.

Let me give you a couple of examples and this will hopefully explain why we love the internet so much as a marketing tool.

I have a former client and friend that owns a catalog showroom type
of retail store. Up until now, for the past 40 years he and his family have been putting together a big collection of different items such as watches, jewelry,luggage,electronics, collectables and thousands of other items and put them into a big catalog, had them mass produced,and them sent them out to forty thousand or so of the residents in our area. Now, with the internet--he can put the entire catalog "on-line" and save himself about a hundred thousand dollars a year in printing and mailing costs.

He also can use his retail store location to put together an on-line
mailing list from the people who come in his store. If he has his employees ask everyone who comes in if they'd like to occasionally receive "special offers"via e-mail then add their e-mail address to a mailing list they (the customer) have just given my business owner friend "permission" to market to them via e-mail.

These are just two of hundreds of powerful ways the internet can help you be more successful in your off line dirt world business.
